The proposal of 75 paisa tax on calls made for more than five minutes is unworkable because

Lahore (Daily Pakistan Online): The government has decided to levy 75 paisa tax on phone calls of more than five minutes in the budget for the next financial year, which has been declared unworkable by the telecom industry.
According to private TV Geo News, the telecom industry officials are of the view that this tax can entice the consumers to reconnect by cutting off the call before 5 minutes, thus the consumers will get rid of the tax payment. Industry insiders say the move could create problems for 98% of prepaid subscribers with the bundle offer, adding that the additional tax would be a complication and inconvenience for telecom operators and the public.
