ANKARA: A bus carrying migrants to Turkey has killed at least 12 migrants and injured 26 others. The dead and wounded are said to be from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

Eastern police say the tragic accident in Turkey took place in the Mordi district of the Turkish province of Van, near the Iranian border, where a bus carrying migrants fell into a deep ravine and caught fire.

According to reports, the passengers of the bus were going to Europe and other western countries via Iran via Turkey. The unfortunate migrants on the bus are said to be from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh, but could not be immediately identified. Local police have arrested the bus driver.
